Engineered wood veneers, on the other hand, are sliced from softer, rapidly growing renewable species. This veneer is dyed in vats, dried and glued together into various shaped blocks where it will be re-sliced and re-glued, depending on the desired pattern. The finished product can emulate natural wood grains like flat cut “cathedral”, quarter cut straight grain, burl or other figure. Even geometric fantasy patterns can be created.

Ayous or Obeche Abachi, Samba, Wawa is creamy-white to pale-straw in colour with no clear distinction between sapwood and heartwood, though the wide sapwood is more susceptible to discoloration and insect attack. It is the lightest low-cost utility hardwood in general use, the density being about 0,38 seasoned. The grain is slightly interlocked; the texture open. When cut on the quarter and stained it has some resemblance to African mahogany. Large logs commonly contain brittle heart. The wood has a ribbon-like aspect on quarter-sawn faces, and is lustrous. Fresh wood has an unpleasant smell, which disappears upon drying.

Workability

Although it cannot be described as hard, the wood is firm under the tool, and even in texture. It works very easily with hand and machine tools, and does not blunt cutting edges of tools very quickly. In end-grain working, the timber may show a tendency to crumble, unless the tools are kept sharp, and edges are not allowed to become thick. It can be turned but is rather soft for this type of use as centres are apt to sink in. For jointed work, gluing is preferable to nailing or screwing, except for very light work. It stains and polishes well (the grain needs to be filled). The wood takes paint well with normal primers.

B – Select Quality:	The appearance is given by a natural growth of wood, sound knots up to 20 mm, black knots up to 10 mm, running-out sap-wood less than 15% of the surface.
C - Rustic A Quality:	It is characterized by highlighted colors, sound open knots up to 35 mm, black knots and holes up to 10 mm, running-out sap-wood covering 20% of the surface.
D - Rustic B Quality:	Significant differences in the structure and colors of the wood, sound knots up to 50 mm, black knots and holes up to 20 mm, sap-wood is permitted.

Безусловно, не нужно забывать о том, что шпон Fine-line – это живой природный материал, изготовленный из натурального сырья ( из древесины аюса и тополя), которое может произрастать на разных почвах и тем самым, в конечном продукте допустима некоторая толерантность в цвете. Однако это не видно «на глаз».

Экологичность
При изготовлении шпона Fine-line используются вещества, не содержащие тяжелых металлов и водорастворимых красителей. Таким образом, шпон Fine-line абсолютно безопасен как для работников производства, так и для конечных потребителей (материал имеет низкую эмиссию формальдегида, не содержит вредных металлов). Светостойкость
Скорее всего вам знакома проблема изменения цвета шпона под воздействием солнечных лучей, особенно эта проблема актуальна для древесины пастельных цветов (серого, голубого, розового) или красных пород дерева (махагон, вишня). Шпон Fine-line значительно более цветоустойчив, чем традиционный шпон, поскольку в состав используемых при его производстве
